> Mayakoba

The Mayakoba Resort, located in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, is situated on a unique coastal strip between mangroves and lagoons, surrounded by rich tropical flora and fauna. This natural environment offers a pristine habitat with an idyllic climate, reefs, birds, and fish. The architectural proposal, in collaboration with Estudio Lamela, aims to respect and preserve this ecological balance by integrating isolated buildings within nature to minimize environmental impact.

The hotel comprises 105 luxury suites, each elevated above the lagoon waters, featuring terraces and infinity pools that merge seamlessly with the horizon. The design of the suites blends contemporary elements with influences from the Mayan world and Mexican style, providing intimate and serene spaces closely connected to nature. The rooms are built on structural platforms that adapt to the topography, elevated above flood levels to minimize environmental disruption.

The proposal is based on a 6-meter-wide suite module, allowing for various room configurations by adding modules. This modular system facilitates the construction of different types of suites, villas, and condominiums while maintaining the design's versatility and adaptability. Each module includes a double wall that houses access points and services, ensuring the privacy and functionality of the rooms.

Common areas are organized on elevated platforms above the lagoons, including reception, business center, restaurant, and service areas. A SPA with 10 private treatment rooms is located on an island, offering views of the mangroves and a variety of wellness facilities, such as mineral salt pools, hydrotherapy areas, and platforms for yoga and Tai Chi.
