The expansion project for the New Passenger Processing Building at Tijuana Airport, in collaboration with Estudio Lamela, aims to enhance the airport's operational capacity and facilitate international crossings between the United States and Mexico through the Cross Border Express. The plan includes the construction of new boarding areas, waiting rooms, commercial spaces, and complementary services, distributed across several levels of the airport.

The expansion is divided into two main stages. The first stage focuses on infrastructure, including circulation and service areas, prioritizing the creation of spaces for passenger processing, as well as the relocation and demolition of existing buildings to prevent interference with the new layout. The second stage targets the arrivals and departures areas, both domestic and international, where spaces for check-in, baggage claim, immigration, offices, waiting rooms, and commercial areas will be developed.
